What is QBO?

QBO bank downloads are OFX-based Web Connect files associated with QuickBooks. They contain transaction records rather than a complete accounting company file.

This tool converts bank and credit-card QBO downloads into a readable table. It preserves transaction IDs and check numbers where available, but does not produce a QuickBooks company backup or an import mapping.

Output · .csv

What the CSV file includes

Your QBO transactions become a UTF-8 CSV with consistent columns, ISO dates and exact decimal amounts. Choose a comma or semicolon separator for your spreadsheet or accounting workflow.

Missing fields stay empty. No exchange rates are applied, and text that could be interpreted as a spreadsheet formula is neutralized.

Common questions

Is a QBO bank file the same as a QuickBooks company file?

No. This converter supports OFX-based .qbo bank downloads. It does not read .qbw company files, .qbb backups or a QuickBooks Online account. No QuickBooks login is required.

How do I open a QBO file in Excel?

Excel has no built-in QBO import, so opening the file directly shows raw statement data instead of a transaction table. Choose the file in the converter above, check the preview, then download the CSV file. It opens in Excel, Google Sheets, Numbers or LibreOffice with one row per transaction.

Are my bank files uploaded anywhere?

No. Files are read and converted in your browser. Neither the original file nor the converted data is sent to a server.

Is the converter free to use?

Yes. All supported conversions are free, with no account or subscription required.

Can I convert a PDF bank statement?

PDFs, screenshots, CSV inputs and Excel inputs are not supported. Download a CAMT.053, MT940, OFX, QFX, QBO or QIF export from your bank instead.

Will the exported amounts be rounded?

Amounts are kept as exact decimal strings during conversion and in CSV. Excel has a 15-digit numeric precision limit, so values that exceed safe limits are exported as text. No currency conversion or balance estimation is performed.
